The Sweethearts are a female-fronted, four-piece pop/punk band from Austin, TX. They play catchy love song tunes that will leave you drunk on the floor and begging for more. "They are young, full of gusto and hell-bent on cranking it up loud and just blasting it"-Now Wave. "The sound is buzz-saw punk combined with a nod of the Golden Age of Top 40" -Austin Chronicle. Their influenced by The Ramones, Blondie, The Go-Go's, Joan Jett, Screeching Weasel, and '60s girl groups. Songs deal with: Young adult romance, teenage drama, and heartbreak, and will hook you from the get-go.

The Sweethearts released their debut album, L.U.V., on Mortville Records, Austin indie label, in September 2003. "L.U.V. sounds like the studio record the Go-Go's could have made back in 1979, when they were still a punk band"-Now Wave. The album has received positive feedback and has placed reviews in the Austin Chronicle, Maximum Rock-n-Roll, Now Wave Fanzine, Ink Magazine, Rank and Review, Razorcake, and may other publications.

This band is definitely on the rise and there's much more to expect, so keep an eye and ear out for them. The Sweethearts will play a West Coast tour in June 2004. They are currently working on new material for their next album. The Sweethearts are Fun, Fun, Fun, Leather Jackets and Bubblegum!
