The Stivs
Fast, energetic, and infectious, The Stivs are in your face! With a laundry list of experiance and musicianship you couldn't shake a stick at, these Portland, OR punk rock vets are out for blood. Fans of Zeke, Murder City Devils, Misfits, Turbonegro, and Ramones, open your ears, The Stivs are coming to town.
The initial roots of the band go back to the summer of 2000. Cliffy was contemplating leaving the Huntingtons in search of a different full-time music gig. He began talks with several musician friends of forming a band that would come across somewhat like a mix of Motörhead & Ramones. The Reaction was officially formed in the fall of 2001, immediately following Cliffy's departure from the Huntingtons. Soon after the release of the band's first album, a major lineup change brought new members and a new name. The Stivs started as nothing more than a continuation of The Reaction, but after a few tours, the band began to take on a life (and a sound) of its own. The band's newest album, entitled The Beat Is Loose, was recorded this past Spring and released in September. Catch the band at a live show... they're almost always on tour.
