The Snake The Cross The Crown
Sometimes it's best to get away from everything and completely submerge yourself in a new atmosphere and reevaluate your stance on everything you know in life. This is exactly what the members of The Snake The Cross The Crown did in the Summer of 2002.
Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, this young group made the move out West to Santa Barbara, California with high intentions on making their new home a new starting point for them as a group and as individuals. The move out West gave the group a different perspective on life, music, and everything else they had previously experienced.
Since the move out West, The Snake The Cross The Crown have been creating quite a buzz with their unique sound and impressive live shows. The group has been described as being melodic indie rock which combines the upbeat sound of eighties influenced rock-pop with today's brand of hook-laden emo.
In the Spring of 2003, The Snake The Cross The Crown entered Orange Whip Studios in Santa Barbara, California with producer Angus Cooke (Ataris, Mad Caddies, Lagwagon) to record their debut EP Like A Moth Before A Flame, which was released in August of 2003 on Waste of Time Records.
The group has started touring more extensively across the U.S., having share the stage with the likes of Murder By Death, The New Amsterdams, Mock Orange, and The Jealous Sound, to name a few. The Snake The Cross The Crown have high hopes and expectations for their future and plan to get their music out to as many people as possible. Only time will tell how far they will go.
