The Prozacs

The Prozacs, formed in September of 2001, are a Western Massachusetts pop-punk band kicking out tunes with a similar style to the Ramones, Screeching Weasel, and The Queers. Comprised of Jay on guitar/vocals, Pete on lead guitar, Colin on bass, and Glenn on drums, the members bring with them the experience of three national and one Canadian tour, as well as countless shows and record releases. (with ex-bands...The Grandprixx and The Paranoids)

In the first few months, the band wrote songs and played local shows. Then heading to Cleveland, OH in July of 2002, they recorded a 16-song demo with help from The Vermin.

The Prozacs debut CD Thanks for Nothing was recorded in the Fall of 2002 and released on Irresponsible Records in May of 2003. Following the release, The Prozacs played many shows... sharing the stage with Squirtgun, Beatnik Termites, Circle Jerks, Good Riddance, Even In Blackouts, The Start, Ruth's Hat, The Copyrights, and River City Rebels, to name a few. An East Coast tour with South Carolina's The Vents came at the end of August... as well as songs appearing on Peephole Records' Serving the Best in Rock and Roll (featuring The Queers, Squirtgun, Groovie Ghoulies, The Manges, The Apers, and Moral Crux) and an Lollipop Magazine mp3 CD, issue #63.

Moving forward and gaining new fans each day, the band is more excited than ever, with plans to hit the studio sometime early 2004. In the works are the release of a split 7" with The Vermin from Ohio and a split CD with The Vents of South Carolina. They also plan to continue playing shows thru the winter and hit the road again sometime this summer. Keep an ear out!
