Mindfield
The story of Mindfield started back in 1994 when guitarist Rainer Sickler got together with four other guys. Due to a couple of line-up changes, it took two years until the first demo Fields of Vision came out in 1996. Gigs with bands like Totenmond, Night In Gails, Crosscut, and positive reactions in the German metal press helped to spread the name of Mindfield.
The Final Piece, recorded 1997 (produced by Andy Classen) finally brought Mindfield to their first deal with Gutter Records in 1999. The debut CD, Deviant, (once more produced by Andy Classen) released in 2000 was pretty successful in the German metal press and also in the international underground. Further gigs with bands like Crack Up as well Die Apokalyptischen Reiter and Solstice brought their tunes to a bigger audience.
Throughout the years, Mindfield developed their sound in order to create some kind of modern melodic but also harsh and atmospheric music. Below is to be seen as the lastest step of the bands musical evolution. Once again produced by Andy Classen and mastered by the golden hands of Goran Finberg at Mastering Room (Soilwork), the record proves that there are many ways to play really hard as well as catchy modern music besides the category of nu metal.
