2057 - Thousands of acres of domestic American farmland are destroyed after the appearance of an advanced form of a disease affecting livestock. More than 25 million Americans and 15 million Europeans are infected through the ingestion of food purchased in both restaurants and supermarkets.
Increased reliance on centralized food distribution leads to severe contamination of overpopulated urban areas, and the virus becomes airborne. New York, Boston, and Chicago experience serious contamination in lower class areas. Hospitals become over-crowded and many are left to die in their homes.
Welcome to Nostalgia for the Future, the first full-length concept record from Constants in Breaking. Featuring three ex-members of the much-buzzed Boston band Five Days Waiting, their new incarnation has spent the past year pushing the boundaries of what a three-piece indie rock band can accomplish and have been turning heads with their unique infusion of ambient melodies, syncopated rhythms and dub influenced experimentations.
Built around the slow core rock of Hum, Constants in Breaking has developed in a direction that echoes the scope of Sigur Ros, the post-prog of the Mars Volta, and even the melodic math rock of Tool. Expansive and dynamic, their compound of complex-yet-accessable music puts this band in a category all their own, and their first album promises to be an interesting ride.
