Broken Heroes
Formed in 1991, these New Jersey Oi'sters are back with a bang! This band is one of the best American Oi! bands to date, helping put Jersey on the map. If you like the Wretched Ones, Niblick Henbane, or any of the early New Jersey Oi! bands, you should already know about the Broken Heroes. With their two 7"s on Headache Records, appearances on various compilations including the infamous U.S. of Oi! Vol. 2 and Backstreets of American Oi!, this will be their first release of any material since 1999. Taking equal parts of traditional UK Oi!/Streetpunk and classic American Oi! gives this band a great sound that all fans of streetpunk, both old and new, will enjoy. They've teamed up with Pittsburgh's Weekend Warriors for a split full-length on Street Anthem Records titled Beer Guts and Drunk Sluts which is now available. If you haven't heard these guys, this would be the perfect album to start out with. If you're already a fan, you definitely won't be disappointed. Skins and punks get ready, 'cause Broken Heroes are ready to give you a serious dose of some top-notch Oi!/streetpunk!
