As I Lay Dying
As I Lay Dying started when long time friends Evan White and Tim Lambesis met drummer Jordan Mancino in February 2001. Within months the three hit the studio to record Beneath the Encasing of Ashes released on Pluto Records in June 2001. Following its release, the band completed a number of tours. Through persistence and hard work Beneath the Encasing of Ashes became the top selling Pluto release.
Ready to move forward, As I Lay Dying recorded five songs for a split release with American Tragedy. The evolved follow up caught the attention of a number of people and various record labels like Metal Blade Records. After a 70-day summer tour the band came home to prepare for the things ahead. In February of 2003, As I Lay Dying signed with Metal Blade Records and recorded Frail Words Collapse which was recorded at Big Fish studios in North San Diego with Steve Russell, who is known for his work with bands like POD and Blindside, and produced mainly by Tim (vocals) and Evan (guitars).
As I Lay Dying is not the type of band to let their music become stagnant. Instead they strive to make the best music they can while constantly pushing themselves to the limits. Their songs are not written to achieve mainstream success, but to win over their fans both old and new. Their debut release titled Frail Words Collapse will deliver 12 brutal and emotionally driven songs that are sure to capture both metal and hardcore audiences alike. Transitioning seamlessly from precise melodies to neck snapping rhythms Frail Words Collapse will undoubtedly be one of the years heaviest and most memorable records. "Everyone at the label has been incredibly supportive. We are excited because all 12 of the new tracks are our best material to date!" As I Lay Dying will hit the road again late May and plan to keep a steady tour schedule throughout the year. Expect to see the new CD Frail Words Collapse in June 2003.
